Janis: Little Girl Blue (2015)
Very interesting documentary. More of an intimate look than most documentaries, mainly because it includes a lot of letters she wrote. And some letters written to her. And the fact that she was so open.

I won't include a lot, but it was interesting to see that early on she was well aware of her limitations as a singer, despite the fan reactions. And finally, how willing she was to embrace singing guidance from the producer of her final album. She had the best part of her career ahead of her, but never got to see it.

One more thing. She didn't sing as a little girl. She didn't even try to sing until she was moved by an Odetta album a friend had lent her.
Sounds interesting.  I saw something on her once.  I got the impression that she felt very unsure of her talent and her abilities.  I wish our culture had been more open about this kind of thing when I was young as I thought it was just me. LOL
